Description
Slender stainless component with profiled external machining
The part is a long stainless-steel piece with a detailed outer profile, a larger head section and a central connection feature. Because the body is relatively slender, holding the profile straight while machining the end features is a more practical concern than simply hitting the outside diameter.
Handling slender stainless parts
Support during turning or milling may be needed to limit deflection and tool marks. Where the part is visible or handled directly, the drawing should separate cosmetic surface requirements from the dimensions that control fit.
Critical relationships in the part
Reference the head feature and the long body from a common centerline.
Mark any grooves, flutes or contoured surfaces that affect grip, flow or assembly.
Define the end connection, cross-hole and edge condition clearly on the drawing.
For quotation: Send the stainless grade, 2D drawing or STEP model, end-connection details and the surfaces that need the best finish.
