Description
Forked carbon-steel part with a long machined stem
This component has a forked head with a transverse bore and a long stem below it. The fork gap, cross-hole position and the straightness of the stem work as one geometry, so treating them as unrelated dimensions can create fit problems even when each feature is individually within tolerance.
What controls the final fit
Fork spacing and the cross bore should be dimensioned from the same datum scheme.
The stem needs a clear straightness or runout requirement if it slides or locates in another part.
Corner radii and transitions around the fork should be kept consistent with the drawing to avoid unnecessary stress concentration.
The part can require turning for the stem and milling/drilling for the forked head. If heat treatment or a coating is required after machining, final-size dimensions should be identified so process allowance can be planned.

Useful RFQ information: Send the drawing or 3D model together with the carbon-steel grade, heat-treatment condition and pin or mating-part dimensions.
