Description
Lightweight spool body with concentric reel surfaces
This aluminum spool uses two flange faces around a central hub and bore. The machining priority is not simply the outer diameter: the hub, flange faces and bore have to stay concentric so the spool rotates cleanly and does not introduce visible wobble.
A turned blank is typically followed by secondary drilling or milling where the design requires holes, recesses or weight-reduction features. Sharp edge breaks should be defined carefully around line-contact areas.
Geometry to lock down on the drawing
Keep the central bore and both flange diameters on the same rotational axis.
Control flange thickness and spacing because they define the line-carrying width.
Call out any anodized or decorative finish separately from the raw machined dimensions.
