Stainless lock hardware with slotted plates and pivot features
This product set includes several lock plates, links and small pivot parts. The components use elongated slots, eyelets and local bosses to guide movement through the lock mechanism, so slot length and pivot spacing are the dimensions that should be controlled first.
Producing a set of related lock parts
Because several pieces work together, it is helpful to quote them from the assembly drawing as well as individual part drawings. That makes the functional relationships easier to verify during inspection.
Geometry to lock down on the drawing
Define slot width, slot length and the position of each slot from the pivot datums.
Specify eyelet or bushing diameters where pins pass through the plates.
Identify any formed or raised features that provide clearance or act as stops.
