Description
Carbon-steel gear segment with machined tooth geometry
This compact gear uses a curved tooth form around a ring-shaped body. Tooth form, pitch and the locating bore all have to relate to one another; a good-looking outer profile is not enough if the gear does not mesh at the correct center distance.
Depending on quantity and accuracy, the tooth form can be produced by dedicated gear cutting or an appropriate CNC method. Final inspection should include the dimensions that control meshing, not only the outside diameter.
Assembly-related dimensions
- Provide the complete gear data: module or DP, pressure angle, tooth count and reference diameter.
- Define the bore or locating feature used to establish gear concentricity.
- State heat treatment and final hardness if the teeth are intended to carry repeated load.
For quotation
Send the gear drawing and mating-gear data together with material grade, heat treatment and any tooth-quality requirement.
