Description
Welded carbon-steel bracket with machined connection points
The component combines fabricated steel sections with machined interfaces. A welded body can move during fabrication, so the critical connection faces and holes should be finished from the welded assembly rather than relying on pre-weld dimensions alone.
Welding before final machining
A practical route is to form and weld the structure first, then machine the functional interfaces in one controlled datum scheme. That approach helps absorb welding distortion without over-tightening the fabricated dimensions.
Fit points that deserve attention
Identify which holes or faces must be machined after welding.
Specify the relationship between the upper connection, lower mounting plate and the main bent section.
If the part is pressure-related, show any required weld procedure, inspection or leak-test requirement on the drawing.
Useful RFQ information
Provide the weld specification, carbon-steel grade, required inspection level and the final machined dimensions that interface with the assembly.
